Hi people! The work continues and this time I’m showing you 2 unusual rooms of the castle area (rooms 229 and 221): Verdugo’s battle zone. I didn’t remember how tough the guy is when fighting him without a rocket launcher!
These stages let you glimpse how the island area will (potentially) look after our “remastering process.”
Remember this is all a Work in Progress ๐ and I hope you like them! After months of architectonical textures, this has been… well… like a breath of fresh air XD

As always I love the attention to detail you put in (like translating signs from english to spanish).
Keep up the fantastic work Albert!
Capcom could sure learn a lesson from u a/b how to properly apply hi-res textures in a game.
I think you should turn add that ankh to the typewriter that I mentioned earlier.
Other than that, just as amazing as always! :^)
Oh, agreed. It will just happen later. ๐ So you might see it again in a future comparison image before it’s updated. But don’t worry, it’s on the list. ๐
I don’t know how you guys do such amazing work, but it is simply stunning to see. A thousand thanks for your continued efforts in completing this mod!
I also think it’s really cool that the nonsense English signs were translated into Spanish. It makes much more sense and fits the theme better. Fortunately the little Spanish I can understand is enough for me to be able to make sense of the signs.
i saw on the steam forums that there is only 10 before the island, are you guys gonna make a update to the demo soon?
Can anybody create a pdf Spanish-English phrase book, based on ganados lines (http://residentevil.wikia.com/Spanish_Translation) and in-game signs? =)
sins that you can read (press a), or signs in general?
In general, of course. Btw, here’s better idea – not pdf, but in-game document, like other letters and files, that you can pick up…
i was wondering if is possible to eddit the bumpmaps on the typewriter? or maybe remap them to make it look more 3d, for example the key caps texture gives off a really good depth illusion but the reflection makes it obvious that is just a flat surface.
This is something I want to try someday if we have the time! ๐
yay!
it completely changed
I gotta ask: ยฟwhere and how did you find the exact pannels, indicators, and meters? Marker writting and all!
Haha I found the site where Capcom found the pictures. Lucky us the site is still there after all those years! ;P
Ha, ha, ha! I’m guessing you have already saved all those images just in case!
Also, I think you should leave the UVW projection inside the tubes as it was, because the stream of water is generated right at the end of the tubes, and there is no water inside the tubes themselves, as we weren’t supposed to be able to see their interior. Having it black makes it seem naturally dark, but being able to see farther back into the tube makes us realize there is no water inside it, making it look a bit weird.
Yeah… I thought the same after correcting that XD I may add some soft black shadow or something…
Wouldn’t that defeat the whole purpose of stretching the UVWs, as they would be covered by blackness? Is there a reason to change the UVWs in the first place? It’s a dark inside of a tube after all, and the outer rim remains unchanged.
No black areas in the redone texture to stretch over, perhaps?
If you think the UVWs must be redone, and are going to add new 3d elements, then just adding a flat polygon with a radial alpha map should do fine.
Other than that, awesome work, as always! ๐
When do you think the full game will come out. Also amazing work you guys done.

;^)
Many thanks Lukas! No doubt that’s the same chair model! :DD
Good finding!
Wow, is the second picture really a screenshot? It looks so real ๐ฎ I love the detail of translating the signs, too, I never thought about that. Makes it more realistic and atmospheric ๐
Iโve noticed that on the second to last picture, the seat of that chair is probably plastic and the spot on it spilled paint. ๐
Epic, very nice work!
