Chapter 4-2 is ready! Sort of…

Hello! I’ve finished the final revision for Chapter 4-2, but I’ve just bought a new video card because mine is slowly dying… So, I’ll have to wait a few days before recording the video.

In the meantime, I’ll be remastering 4-3, so, there won’t be further delay on the project progress.

I also want to share this:

I’m trying to find someone that lives in London and has a good camera to take pictures to these 2 locations. Please, reach us out via the “contact us” page or by leaving a comment down here if you can help!

Have a nice weekend!!

You should be a detective. How did you even find out where the place was without even been there?
    This is nuts!

  2. Max Storm says:

Wait, why would you need pictures? We have AI Gigapixel that can make blurry images crisp clear.

  3. Frank Nitty says:

NOICE!!! Can’t wait for the video.

If only I lived in London

that screenshot of the caves has me SOOO HYPED!!!

btw I posted feedback on part/half of ch4-1 but it took me a while to watch the whole video, so I didnt get a chance to post after I finished watching 4-1… anyway, I honestly do not have any complaints, not even any tiny nitpicks!! there were a few things you fixed based on feedback which look great now, and it was a really long video so I cant remember everything but, it seriously looked damn near perfect!

I really hope you release an update for us when you complete 4-4 that way you dont feel pressured to rush the final chapters and you can also get user feedback to make any further adjustments before you finally complete your project!!! I literally just right now purchased a new computer and I want to make a video stream of your work πŸ™‚ and I will make sure to make a donation to you very soon too <3

May I ask what GPU you just bought Albert?
I have also posted about your call for help from someone in the London area on REmodding and in your thread on Steam.

      Thanks! πŸ˜€
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC
      It’s second-hand but almost new
Maybe it’s too much, but this way I’m making sure this card will be the last one before buying a completely new machine in the future

  7. Max Storm says:

Hey Albert, once you’re done with the main campaign of the game, this isn’t over yet right?

  8. Max Storm says:

Hey Albert, when I was talking about AI gigapixel, I meant the endgame mercenaries screen where Leon is standing in the train station. Does that image look blurry?

    • albert says:

      Oh! I understand now haha
Yes, the original picture is the worst of all the result images. It’s slightly blurry and grainy. It doesn’t look good enough to obtain decent results with gigapixel.

  9. Alucard says:

I’m still concerning about the loss of Depth of Field in cut scenes. I know it’s not possible to restore original effect from the game as you stated earlier, but can you find a workaround solution to add some kind of pseudo/alternate DOF to the game?

    • V I D A L says:

I wonder… I know why QLOC removed it as the effect was faked for CRT TVs and don’t scale well on high resolutions, but they just took the lazy way out. They could have increased the sample or code another depth of field solution. It’s a shame they just removed it completely and left it out. Makes a big difference.

How’s things going on here with this London train station photo request?

Has anyone been able to help with the photos yet?

    • albert says:

Nope. A guy told me: “I’m going to make pictures this weekend” on twitter. It was… 3 weeks ago or so. He disappeared XD

Considering hi polygon model pack ? for these who use razor DLL companion.

  13. Max Storm says:

Hey Albert, in your opinion, which upscaling software do you recommend people use? Ersgan, Topaz Gigapixel, or Waifu2x

    • albert says:

I think Ersgan has the highest potential because you can add custom “trained models” –or however they are called– that work better for different type of images. Unfortunately I can’t use it in my PC (I’m waiting my new machine right now :P)
So, this method requires some skills if you want to train the best model for your picture (I have no idea how to do it) and get the best upscale result
Topaz does a great job, specially when you know how to use it exactly. (sometimes a previous Photoshop job is needed to obtain the best results).
I’m not 100% sure but I guess it uses the same method Ersgan uses, but with the limitation you can’t choose a trained model or another, just the one the program use (and I bet is optimized for landscapes, faces… the most common type of pictures=
And I’m seeing Waifu2x is quite limited, but I just discovered, so I’m not 100% sure of its potential.
But I’m not an expert so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt…

      • CiTRiC says:

I use Waifu2x almost on the daily because I edit images so and I can attest that it works best for drawings/illustrations and not so much for irl photos or the like.

      • Vicyous says:

You can always use pretrained models for great results, as for waifu2x it mostly works for 2D illustrations and its too smeary, woundt recomend for realism or re4.
