Shopping at the Merchant and Finding the Emblem

These areas have gone a bit faster and it’s really satisfying to see the difference! There are perhaps some contrast / brightness adjustments to make but regardless, enjoy the comparison shots!

Why / why not? 🙂 He doesn’t seem to understand the villagers in the cutscene where they are surrounding the house and the chainsaw starts, but he is able to read the letters he finds from Mendez, who surely wrote them in Spanish since they were written for the Ganados. What do you think?

Excellent work. As for Leon speaking spanish, yeah I could see how a special agent on a mission to spain should learn a thing or to about the language. But I don’t think he speaks it exceptionally good, most likely according to the initial plan the two spanish policemen were to do all the talking with the locals.

    • Cris says:

Thank you! That’s a good point about the two Spanish Policemen. Perhaps also Leon brought a Spanish / English dictionary to translate the letters he finds. 🙂

Amazing work as usual! Please show the revised carpet in the next update 🙂

WOW .. You are embarrassing Capcom with your amazing work xD

  4. KALUDIO says:

we need the second demo! xD… anyways, is there any updates on the garbage bags?

    • Cris says:

Hi Kaludio! They were finished a while ago, thanks for asking! I’m happy with the result (sorry, no screenshots – can’t spoil everything. :)).

Well.. one thing is read, other completely different is listening. Many people can communicate in English on the internet, but don’t understand the first thing when talking face to face.

    • Cris says:

I think you’re right. From what I see in the game he probably can read it, but doesn’t understand it spoken. One of the fun aspects of playing the game for me was understanding everything the bad guys were saying. For some reason, “morir es vivir” made me the most uncomfortable. 🙂

  6. Pedro says:

About Leon, I really can’t imagine why he went alone to talk with the villagers while the two cops stay in the car, and he talks with the first villager in English…

And a very good work as always.

  7. Pedro says:

About Mendez, they letters are for Saddler, as I remember.

  8. Cris Without H says:

It’s just an incosistency for the sake of the player’s convinience. Leon does not speak Spanish one bit. If he knew Spanish, we would’ve talked to the villager at the start of the game in Spanish and would’ve understood Ganados later on. The Letters are written in English so that the player wouldn’t have to use the dictionary, not Leon.

    • Cris says:

But’s it’s fun to come up with explanations that make sense in the game world. 🙂

      • Cris Without H says:

        I suppose so.
Perhaps Mendez wanted the villagers to learn English so that they could find better jobs, improve their life standard, get education, so he started leaving them notes in English.
Or Leon asked Siri to translate.

        • Cris says:

Hehehe I like the Mendez explanation. And perhaps he was doing this without Saddler’s permission. 🙂
