Time to go to Church…

You’ve seen some shots of this area before – this post focuses on some of the textures I’ve worked on for the church area. Some color adjustment might take place, so as always consider it a work in progress.

Also, the wooden item box has been revised once again based on the original source texture (before it was simply a recreation).

Oh, and when the images say “HD Restoration” it means that the original source texture or real life location was used to “restore” the texture. When it says “Recreation” it means the texture has been recreated from scratch.

Enjoy!

Impressive. How did you find the original textures for the wooden boxes?? This project continues to impress me even after all these months.

    Great work.
    Cheers

Thanks! I think basically it was there among the various texture compilations that Albert has found online, and he noticed recently that it looked like the box texture.

    Looking scary good guys O.o
    Just being an grammar “nazi” here,but “Recreation” means;
something people do to relax or have fun : activities done for enjoyment
Now I know you guys do this for fun and enjoyment, but the way you have used it in sentence does not make sense. “Recreated” is correct form/language for your descriptor.

Good Luck guys in putting the finishing touches on this classic game.

    • Cris says:

Hi togan! ๐Ÿ™‚ No worries about being a grammar nazi! ๐Ÿ™‚ I could be wrong, but recreation has multiple definitions, no? One is the one you described, but it also can mean something that has been created again. The definition and example you find via Google (if you search for “recreation definition”) is “the action or process of creating something again,” as in: “the periodic destruction and recreation of the universe.” Hope that helps clarify, but if I’m off, please let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚ And thanks for wanting to help make things as accurate as possible!

I just want you to have correct label on your work…the word Recreation you use to describe your texture work is pronounced Reckrhreeashun or re-krฤ“-หˆฤ-shษ™n

Either use Recreated like I stated in original reply,or use spelling like this Re-creation.

        • Cris says:

Ahh, you are correct: in most cases the word appears with a hyphen. (For anyone else interested, here is a good summary of the origin of the word: http://goo.gl/UjbqeY). I’ll use the hyphenated version from now on. Thanks!

Can I ask how the 3rd gravestone revision is going since I found the original textures for both? ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Lukas says:

Are you guys 100% sure those are the source textures? I can see some similarities but I can see some differences too.

Also, if there are any other textures with images/patterns (like carpets or gravestones) that you can’t find, please, please mail me (please never ever publish my mail or my last name anywhere) with the texture and i’ll see what I can do. You know i’ve done it in the past! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Cris says:

Hi Lukas! Not sure which images you’re referring to when you ask about whether those are the source textures, but yes, I’m sure. I’m assuming you mean for the large “torch” – the original texture is stretched too much horizontally around the 3D model, which distorts it even further. I adjusted for that to correct the warping, so it’s not going to be a 1 to 1 match.

Thanks for the offer on finding other textures. We’ll keep it in mind as we move forward. ๐Ÿ™‚
