     I was thinking the same thing… Very creative solution from Capcom. But also really impressive that Albert spotted that.

   how do you guys get the textures out of round objects like this one?

     If you look at the Capcom texture, they didn’t mapped the whole rounded shape. They just got a picture of the main pattern and repeated. The smaller pattern that follows are not even there in the Capcom texture.
