When your only weapons are lamps…

Today I’m posting an update from my work on the first room where you control Ashley.

I was going to post this last night, but I found out about the death of the President of Nintendo and so I spent the evening talking with folks about it and thinking about the impact he had on the industry.

    You’re really getting better at this. The amount of small but necessary fixes you do is insane.
    Can I help you guys with anything? Maybe trying to find more of these issues somewhere? I know you keep the screens of the village area issues we showed you a some time ago, am I right?

      Btw, in the 4th screenshot I noticed some thin floating geometry that looks like it’s an edge cut off from the back-face culling.

        Good eye! We’ll correct that.

        Yes, actually Albert has been going through the Village section, correcting 3D modeling / UV mapping issues, including the items you noted. 🙂

        And thanks for the offer to help further. For the time being we will continue working as we have been, though. 🙂

          Well, I was sitting just 2 inches away from the monitor when I looked at that screen shot. xD

          Awesome! Great news really. That sh!tty looking bridge needs to be polished up by true game artists.

          Not with texturing of course! I’m really not good at that. I meant with looking around for inconsistencies. But I bet you guys eliminate every single of them when recreating a certain room.

            Hell yeah, I finally found out how to successfully donate. But it’s only about 5,60 $ for now, as I didn’t have more on my account. But once you guys are finished with the whole project, I’ll donate 50$ dollar for sure. That’s a promise. 🙂

    OMG icant wait for this, itll give me an excuse to play it again for the 20th time. Do these textures work on other modes?

      Yes, we’ll update Mercenaries, Separate Ways and Assignment Ada modes aswell 🙂

      Thanks Alvare! We are keeping all screenshots provided. I think all things you pointed out in your screenshots of castle area are fixed… and much much much more 😉

    I check up on your progress quite regularly because the quality of your work is astounding, well done for everything so far you’re really helping preserve the legacy of an amazing game.

    I’ve noticed with some mods these days that they can actually get developer endorsement to be treated as an update to the base game. For example Half life 2: Update impressed Valve so much it got its own store page, have you thought about approaching Capcom once the project has finished so your work can reach as many people as possible?

      Capcom sadly generally does not do anything with these kinds of projects.

        well they did publish a fan made mod for megaman on his anniversary… even if they did it for free. generally capom doesn’t do thing like publishing mods but they really like good publicity and cheap ways to keep the fans happy. this mod would help them greatly, at no additional cost, heck they could even publish it like ultimate re4hd arcade edition on ps4 and xbone and people would still buy it xD.

      Thanks for the support! 🙂 We know there’s some awareness of the project at least based on Capcom community manager comments on the Steam forums – we’ll see what happens when the project is finished (we still have a ways to go!) 🙂 In the meantime it’s been great to see the number of people finding out about this project through word of mouth and sharing online. We’ll keep working hard to exceed expectations! 🙂

    Completely amazing work guys. Even on the small stuff. I’m GLAD I never finished this game now.
