When Knights Come to Life!

Tonight I’m sharing some progress from the second area in Ashley’s section of the game. Enjoy the work in progress, including some UV Mapping / 3D model edits!

    I’ve said it already, but it doesn’t stop to impress me.
    I’ve seen so many re-texture mods in my live, but never before I’ve seen such a strict observation to keep the original mood of the game.
    In this term this mod is absolutely unique.

    Resident Evil 4 is not the best of the series.
    (my order is: 1 > 2 > Code Veronica > 4 > 3 > Zero > 5 > Revelations > 6)
    But the immersion added throught the incredible detail level of this mod makes it outstanding in its own way.

    You also constantly work on it. Not giving pseudo updates, what is planed for future updates and that the project is *not abandoned* and so on. I’m sure that you will finish this.
    I have great respect for you and this project.

    lol that puzzle section was probably the worst textured thing in the game, its also up close in your face.

    Beautiful work Cris, I haven’t touched the HD remaster yet so I can play in full glory once you release this masterpiece.

    On a side note, please enable Facebook and Google comments. There are plugins for that in WordPress, it’s dead simple 🙂

    I usually check to see if you guys have updated this blog every other day. It’s really cool to see the kind of work you’ve been doing, and it feels like you guys are almost half way done with this mod.

    I imagine it’ll be pretty popular on release day considering how you have done some pretty professional work on this game. I’m curious if you guys have gone to school for this kind of work in general, or if this is just a side hobby and your day job is completely different?

      Thank you Steven!
      In my case it’s a side hobby. I work as layout designer for a scientific magazines publisher. I usually work with adobe software (indesign, photoshop, illustrator) 🙂

    I just noticed you guys are nearing my n1. favorite part of the game, the legendary knife fight scene. 😀

    Can’t wait to see that room being retextured.
    As for the room with IT, my guess is that, that one room will be fairly difficult to test, as the monster doesn’t give you time to look around. xD

    Possible thing you guys could probably solve is the very obvious tiling rock wall at the beginning of that room:
    and of course the 2D flat chains of the battle area.

    I do a lot of re-texture work / modding for games, and have been following this for a while. Totally blown away as always. The most faithful reproductions I’ve ever seen. Great stuff, keep it up.
