It’s Good to Work Together!

Among the updates today are the first couple of instances where Albert’s materials are improving textures that had been previously updated. 🙂 I’ve also made some good / somewhat faster progress on the remaining Ganados.

  1. The progress completed so far has been ported over to the Ultimate HD version and from this point forward we will be working primarily from that version.
  2. I’ll have the first official demo video of the first gameplay section of the game uploaded by tomorrow. It’s a high bit-rate file (14GB total), so it’s taking a while to upload to Youtube
  3. In the meantime, Albert has recorded a number of work-in-progress tours based on his texture progress. Please note, these are not the final textures – simply a test based on his custom textures:

Awesome news about the successful porting of the work. I just have a minor nitpick 🙂 The pants that Leon wears are not jeans, they are 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants. Same manufacturer of his shirt aswell. The pants are cotton I believe. Here’s the link if you want to have a look for yourself:

EDIT: Also, I noticed you had trouble locating a reference for the gloves. This is the best I could do:

I hope these help and good luck 🙂

Hey sorry for not replying to your other post where you mentioned Leon’s pants (perhaps it was on another forum). You’re totally right re: pants – that should be easy enough to update, though it likely won’t be for a while. The links you provided are a great reference for when the time comes. Re: the gloves, I saw the intended design in the art book. The problem I see is that the 3d model doesn’t have the bumps for the individual fingers – so I wonder how it would look if the texture incorporated the finger pads. We may come back to it down the road. Thank you again!!

Amazing progress indeed. I will say this again, I really appreciate your work and Albert’s for making RE4 HD.

This keeps getting batter. Albert is a great addition to the team. His fireplace texture is spot on. The little peace of furniture was also a good choice, we can see how all the drawings on his texture perfectly matches the original.
Do you plan to release a first version of this mod at some point or only when the entire game is done? I can’t wait to try it my self.

Looks awesome. Already sent you 2 donations, if there’s anything else I can do, just let me know.

Is it just me or are the iris/pupil of the ganado in that first screenshot too small now?

    • crisdecuba says:

You’re right. I’ll keep an eye on that for future revisions (no pun intended).

I think the textures on the first screenshot require some work. Gandao’s eyes appear too small and the wrinkles are straight up black. Also, seams on the neck and on the clothes are pretty visible, but I’m not sure if that can be fixed.
On the fourth screenshot, the shirt apppears to be dirtier than the original while his slacks appear to be cleaner, but I’m just nitpicking here.
And, Don Jose’s magnificent beard from the last screenshot appears blondish white as opposed to grayish brown.

    • Cris says:

Agreed on pretty much everything. 🙂 It will be interesting to go back to these character textures once the environmental textures are complete.

It’s amazing how you guys appreciate al the feedback.
I met people, sometimes so called “professional” artists who at reacted with absolute rage at the slightest critic of their work.

        • Cris says:

Feedback helps improve the end result! 🙂 At the same time I understand that it can be difficult to have something you created be criticized. But in the end we have to set our egos aside and just do our best. Thanks again!

Ah, my poor writing strikes again.
