A surprise behind the shutter! (room 305)

Hello people!

Today I’m showing you one more room from the Island section of the game. This one is quite small in size but big in difficulty (like the previous 2 rooms). Again there was a lot of work required for one-time-use textures, but the results deserve the work, I think!

This time I’ve tested a “new” type of specular effect on the last door (the one connecting with room 306). Actually, I used this effect previously in some of the ornate gilded giant torches in the Castle area, but the effect was really subtle. I think it looks quite good and natural over the door and I may use it in future 3D models (or previous). It combines both bump-mapping with a specular map. You can see it in motion if you take a look at the video!

And lots of 3D edits were needed as usual here and there (modeling and remapping).

As always, this is a work in progress.

As a side note: Maybe some of you have noticed I’m not doing the 3-room updates I used to do a few months ago. I’m not getting tired ;P The reason is that I’m combining the Island Area work with the remaining Village Area 3D edits. ðŸ™‚
