The Novistador Nest!

cover

After a week of being away from home for work, I’m finally back and can share some progress! This update is from the room with the Novistador nest. I have to say that even today I am freaked out by the Novistadores… especially with their strange crawling pattern. Bleh!

That said, please enjoy the work in progress!

Looks great as always but maybe texts “open close” (4 picture) should be in different language? 😉

is the lock on last pic on the right door pannel or in the middle ? that kind of doors has two pannels when you open it.

Hehe that door… This door was entirely created by Capcom staff by “mix and matching” several textures. I found some of the source pictures they used and sincerely… the structure of this gate has no sense at all and I really doubt that something similar to that exists in real life. So, we just recreated it and gave 3D volume in a graphical appealing way 🙂 I can be wrong of course and if someone found a similar door, please, feel free to share a picture ;D

maybe he had a hormone surge during the texture editing and the only thing he had in mind was kissing his wife ? ( his dog ?!)

your 3d edits are impressive but don’t forget some parameters, the more hd it is, the more it shows. ( the more people see ?)

        🙂

Saludos!

    Great work as always!

what’s gonna happen with the remapped texture when you change the textures to standard definition in the game? and also to the 3d edits?

    • albert says:

All 3D edits are used in both standard and HD texture mode of the game. Both quality modes share the same model files.

Some textures have been heavily altered (unmirrored textures, for example, or even brand new textures). In these cases, we’ll include a new SD pack with those files. But we won’t edit the orignal textures of course:

      – SD Unmirrored textures: we simply will duplicate both sides of the low-res texture. So, in SD texture mode, the texture will still have the mirror effect.
      – SD New textures: we’ll add low-res version of those textures.

      😉

I was playing project m the other day and was amazed at the quality of some textures used on the new stages and thought to myself, gee the wii can do much more than what the gamecube did back on 2001. so i asked myself a question, can the textures of other wii games be improved? I read somewhere that the gamecube had 16 whole megabytes of vram. In comparison the wii had 64 megabytes of vram. A whooping four x4 that of the gcn. So would it be possible to downscale your hd textures to 4 times that of the gcn and still be playable on the wii as a hacked rom? also are the pc formats similar of the ones on the wii? to be clear, i’m not expecting anybody to do it, i’m just wondering xD as always thanks for your time and effort.
