Exploring the church interior

Hi People! This weekend I’m posting some church material.

This area is especially amusing to recreate since there are a bunch of real-life architectural and furniture elements for which I was able to find the hi-res source materials, and even I took a few pictures myself! Also, it’s like a taste of what the castle area will be.

For example, that door in the first picture. I took that picture on my last trip. The most hardcore fans will recognize it because it was already in REmake. That door was in the tunnels area in which you must place the flamethrower and escape from Lisa Trevor for a second time. In fact, in Remake it’s already using textures from Spain and some of them were recycled in RE4.

Remember, as usual I’m posting work-in-progress screenshots. Somethings will be improved or vastly changed in the final version πŸ˜‰

Thank you for your comments guys!
As soon as we plan something about a second demo we will announce it but for now we are focused on making progress πŸ˜‰
But we haven’t decided what would include a future demo yet.

Amazing, how in the world do you manage to find the original reference materials for the textures again and again?

    Most impressive!
It feels like your head is already organized like a “RE4 textures hunter” database! I wouldn’t be able to tell a masonry wall texture apart from the other 751574 that you must have been working with on a daily basis!

great job guys,i don`t even know why you undertake all this work and invest so much of your valuable time and efforts but it really looks like your efforts are paying well πŸ˜€
so is this really going to take 2 years to complete or there is still hope for this to come out by the end of this year ? also can you show comparison between ultimate HD and your texture pack (i know yours is far superior but still i want to see the difference between the two),i check your website almost everyday now .i wish you well guys and hope that you get rewarded for your hard work.

Thank you for your comment!s We can’t establish specific dates but I guess it won’t take as much as 2 years. Obviously it’s not an impossible scenary and it all depends on the ammount of free time we have. For now, I’d say everything goes smoothly!

The reason we make comparissons using the original textures is that we are recreating them using the original textures as base.

This UHD port only has a few updated textures. And some of them are terrible and confusing because they just updated a few of them and you can see a detailed texture side by side with a completely blurred texture. Besides some of the new textures have been updated without having in mind the mapping of that texture ingame. For example, the window of the tower in the village and the door with the retine recognition system just before the castle area. The new textures are “fine” but they mismatch completely with the 3D model and they are completely different from the original textures.

All the other environmental textures have just been upscaled x2 using an upscaling filter called alien skin blowup (at least the result is the same) and they don’t have extra detail compared to the original textures.

Anyway, maybe I’ll do some comparissons in the future with the 3 versions to clarify the issues I’m talking about πŸ˜‰

Thank you again for visiting us!

When Sadller appears, the chandelier above him twitches. Anything that can be done about it?
