A Trap for Leon (r218-215)

Hello again! I’ll be out for 2 weeks with no computer and no internet connection. It will be a real vacation XD. But before that, one last update (3 of 3)! Again, all I said in the “King’s Chalice” post can be applied here too 😉

I really had a great time restoring all these textures and I hope you like them! 😀

    Still can’t believe you guys are graphically improving my favorite game of all time. Thanks! 😀
    Some things I’d really hope seeing next time:

    -Higher polygon 3D chandeliers/candles or at least fixing the gap in the chandelier’s billboard texture.
    -Removing the obvious mirror line in the texture from snap 3.
    -The red button doesn’t look right yet and rushed, sorry, but the camera gets so close in, it has to be perfect.

    But enough about nitpicks, have a nice vacation!

      also, someone who’s good at 3d modeling should smooth leon’s body 3d mesh, then benchmark it using the most common gpu available right now (e.g. gtx 660 or readeon hd 7870). if it run at 60 fps then rise the polygon count, if it doesn’t then lower the poly count. if someone has experience with 3d modeling and would like to add something to my half-baked idea please say so.

        I agree. Leon’s blocky arms are a distraction. Shouldn’t have that much of an impact on fps.

        Yea – I’m all for it. But are you guys actually planning on improving Leons polygon count – thus redoing his character model?

          Hi Elias! We haven’t discussed Leon’s poly count yet, since we’re focusing on the environmental textures at the moment. So, can’t say either way at the moment. Thanks for asking!

    I really hope this project can get Capcom’s attention and then implemented into the HD version as a free update.

    Wow that new modeled door looks gorgeous. Are you planning in doing the same with other similar doors (I mean doors that should obviously had been modeled but ended being just a plain texture)?

    I recycled this model from the cutscene just afetr you open that door. But I touched up a few mapping issues too.
    Maybe I’ll add doorknobs here and there in some doors. It depends of the available time 😉
