Hello people!
Today I’m showing you one more room from the Island section of the game. This one is quite small in size but big in difficulty (like the previous 2 rooms). Again there was a lot of work required for one-time-use textures, but the results deserve the work, I think!
This time I’ve tested a “new” type of specular effect on the last door (the one connecting with room 306). Actually, I used this effect previously in some of the ornate gilded giant torches in the Castle area, but the effect was really subtle. I think it looks quite good and natural over the door and I may use it in future 3D models (or previous). It combines both bump-mapping with a specular map. You can see it in motion if you take a look at the video!
And lots of 3D edits were needed as usual here and there (modeling and remapping).
As always, this is a work in progress.
As a side note: Maybe some of you have noticed I’m not doing the 3-room updates I used to do a few months ago. I’m not getting tired ;P The reason is that I’m combining the Island Area work with the remaining Village Area 3D edits. 🙂
